Am a mother who breastfed a child she is 6 weeks today and her latching it worries me a lot even her weigh

  • I am a mother of 6weeks baby, today as took her for her appointment she weighed 4kg from 3.6kgof birth. and as breastfed her she do the sound like clit!clit!clit! not silent as other babies when they get fed.please help am so worried even fallasleep.

    It would be best to see an IBCLC lactation consultant to check your baby’s latch and help you with increasing your baby’s milk intake, and check with your health professionals that your baby doesn’t have any underlying illness causing slow weight gain. The clicking sound might be your baby’s tongue losing suction with the breast, perhaps they are in a shallow latch or have a tongue-tie. If your baby isn’t breastfeeding well they won’t be able to get enough breast milk. Useful links to help you include:
