Red spots on nipple

Gayheartma10897 2 Rep.

The last few days there have been theses little red spots and the have hurt so bad that it’s almost impossible to let baby eat. He’s 2 months and Iv never had any sort of problem. I went to look at it when I got up and it looks to be bleeding from some of the red dots. Any ideas what this might be?

It is best to see your doctor for a firm diagnosis and treatment in case one is needed. There can be several reasons for sore nipples that may result in blisters, spots, rashes, cracks and bleeding. See Causes of Sore Nipples and Blisters on Nipples for more information. If the soreness is due to the way your baby is breastfeeding, finding an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant can help you with latch and positioning. Do let us know how you get on.
